Susanna Bryceson has been working as a professional editor for more than 20 years. Her career includes publications for Ministry of Planning and Environment, Victoria Police, Centre for Adult Education, Melbourne Ladies' College and Victoria Press. She has worked as both managing editor and as a freelancer.
She currently runs her own business, QWERTY Communications, where she produces corporate materials, magazines, newsletters, policy documents, brochures, press releases, books and training materials. As well, she edits documents and reports for a range of clients. She also delivers training courses in writing in Plain English, editing, and publishing topics relevant to corporations and government agencies. A recent client was the EPA in Victoria, for whom she edited a number of reports.
Susanna also teaches non-fiction and editing at Victoria University TAFE in Melbourne. She teaches students how to write articles and features, create newsletter content, manage and produce publications, and edit to a professional level. She is also coordinator of the Professional Writing & Editing course (Certificate IV and Diploma) and manages a staff of 11.
While in Hong Kong, as well as teaching writing and editing classes at the YWCA on Hong Kong Island, she will be running a number of training sessions with Women in Publishing on various aspects of editing and publication production. Classes and sessions are listed here.
